I’m not sure just how you did it, but you have captured our lives and families with uncanny accuracy. We are married for the 2nd time (24 years). We have 5 kids, 6 grandkids, an 18 year old that is in local college, and a 27 year old that has moved back home to pursue a career opportunity. As I read through the two parts that are available on the website, I became aware of the crushing sadness that is evoked when you see your deepest and personal thoughts and feelings put to words. Our first family retreat was an incredible success thanks to the family building book, and your personal encouragement. As you know, the glass blowing class was just the beginning that eventually included attending The Nutcracker, a movie, some wonderful meals and many “meaningful conversations.” I asked a banker to present our kids with a discussion about budgeting and on-line-banking. This was received very well and has been a catalyst for discussions of money in general. What an insightful, yet very practical, guide for building and strengthening family ties. Congratulations on a first rate job …. Last year, I read Charles Colliers', Wealth In Families. I liked it so much that I gave copies to my wife, my daughter-in-law and my two sons. We had a family meeting to discuss the ideas over a long Sunday brunch.
